Cancer Comfort presents Sarahs Gift"
For Children Undergoing Cancer Treatments
Indianapolis, Indiana (PRWEB) October 28 2003-- Cancer Comfort, an online cancer resource center, has officially launched their fundraising campaign for Sarahs Gift". Sarahs Gift was created with the help of 12-year old cancer patient, Sarah, who underwent a bone marrow transplant in August 2003 at Seattle Childrens Hospital.
I first met Sarah through a volunteer organization, Chemo Angels, in May 2003", states Kathy Browning, founder of Cancer Comfort. I was searching for resources to add to my website, when I ran across Chemo Angels. This organization connects individuals to angel" cancer patients. I was assigned to Sarah in May and we have become good friends."
Cancer Comfort offers an exclusive line of Daily Comfort Kits, specifically designed for individuals undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The gift line includes all-natural, unscented personal care items, which take into consideration the special needs of the cancer patient. Browning states We thoroughly tested every item included in our Daily Comfort Kits. Each one provides a benefit and comfort to individuals during a very difficult time".
During a conversation with Sarahs mom, the idea of creating a kit for children was presented" states Browning. I asked Sarah for assistance and together we have created a kit that will provide comfort and smiles to every child who receives one. Sarahs Gift is packaged in a backpack and provides a means of transportation for an IV bag and pump. It contains personal care items, toys and games that stimulate the mind and provide a creative outlet, as well as gifts and resources for the caregiver."
Weve had great response to Sarahs Gift" already. Product vendors have been most helpful in providing products needed for this project". Browning states We plan to donate forty kits to Seattle Childrens Hospital on November 21st. Each kit will be presented by Sarah to the children on her unit, as a gift from her and our sponsors".
Cancer Comfort is currently raising funds through individual donations and corporate sponsors. To make a donation, become a sponsor, or obtain additional information visit the Cancer Comfort website at www.cancercomfort.com.
