MABEL MERCER: A SINGERS SINGER:
Mabel Mercers timeless vocal artistry and unique lyrical interpretations have made her the grande dame of popular song." Born in England in 1900, Mercer left school at 14 to join her aunt in a vaudeville and music hall tour of Britain and the Continent. By the 1930s, Mercer had introduced her inimitable style of cabaret singing, beguiling such notables as Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and the Price of Whales. WWII brought Mercer to New York where she made a legendary series of nightclub and supper club engagements at Le Ruban Bleu, Tonys, the Byline Room, and the RSVP. Then it was on to the Carlyle and St. Regis Hotels, concert triumphs, and record-breaking appearances across America.

Join Miss Mercer in the intimate surroundings of Cleos in New York as she performs timeless standards in a style that influenced the likes of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Billie Holiday. This renowned singer/pianist, with his legendary repertoire from the greats of Tin Pan Alley, performs a thrilling 25-song set with his usual verve and charm in the intimate and elegant setting of the Café Carlyle.
