MILLIONS OF CHILDREN ARE HARMED AND KILLED BY UNFIT PARENTS

To fight the overweight and obesity epidemics, Michael Applebaum, MD has developed Fit to Parent tm, the first fitness lifestyle program that prepares parents and parents-to-be to raise healthy children, even before their children are born.

CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) October 31, 2003 - According to the CDC, a majority of adults of reproductive age are unfit, i.e., overweight or obese. Studies prove that the Number One predictor of childhood weight problems is parental unfitness. If one parent is unfit, a child has a 40% chance of developing weight problems and if both parents are unfit, a child has an 80-90% chance of developing weight problems.
In 2000, there were 4.059 million births in the United States. The CDC expects one in three children to become diabetic during their lifetime from being unfit. Diabetes is only one problem. There are other physical and mental illnesses that harm or kill the children of unfit parents. Health officials agree that behavioral factors (physical activity and diet) are modifiable and logical targets for intervention."
Dr Michael Applebaum, a Chicago-based physician, fitness expert, author and consultant introduces the first parental fitness program targeted at improving a childs health even, in some cases, before they are born. Michael Applebaum, MD has developed Fit to Parent tm, a unique lifestyle program for parents and parents-to-be that prepares them to raise healthy children. According to Dr. Applebaum, Unlike any other initiative directed at saving children from the devastating effects of being overweight or obese, Fit to Parent tm enhances the home lives of parents to be and parents of children age 3 and younger. Fit to Parent tm teaches adults how to improve their lifestyles in preparation for raising healthy children and in doing so, improve their own health and relationships."
Fit to Parent tm is taught by Dr. Applebaum, in-person or as a distance-learning course. For more information on Fit to Parent tm and Dr. Applebaum, visit www.FitnessMed.com, www.FitToParent.com, or www.Dr.Applebaum.com or call (312) 337-0732.
