The EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) Industry Consortium today announced that Collaxa joined as a consortium member. Collaxa, the industrys leading pure-play BPEL vendor, joins with the mission of demonstrating how BPEL allows enterprises to add support for Business Process Management (BPM) to their existing infrastructure (both .NET and J2EE) while avoiding vendor lock-in.

Traditional BPM technology is based on proprietary and complex vertical software stacks. The result is a highly fragmented market, making technology selection and implementation daunting challenges for customers. These difficulties inhibit the growth of the BPM market and prevent customers from realizing the full potential of BPM.

To address these issues, Collaxa is spearheading the use of BPEL (Business Process Execution Language), the standard for integrating services into business processes. Collaxas mission is to help organizations of all sizes harness the power of BPEL to reduce project costs, complexity and skills requirements for their BPM initiatives. Collaxa will assist by educating developers, business analysts, consultants and business users on how BPEL and other industry standards can help make BPM mainstream.

"By joining the EAI Industry Consortium, we will gather experience from the business process management world to accelerate adoption of BPM through industry standards such as BPEL, Web services and J2EE," said Doron Sherman, Collaxa's CTO. "We joined the consortium because we agree with the philosophy of the group, encouraging free expression, entrepreneurial spirit and education."

Michael Kuhbock, Chairman and Founder of the EAI Industry Consortium, adds: "We welcome Collaxas vision of global open standards and their drive to unify the thought leadership in the BPM arena. The EAI Industry Consortium is excited to leverage the growth in this area with members like Collaxa."
