ONLINE VIDEOS FEATURE LIFELONG REPUBLICANS, GREENS, INDEPENDENTS ‘SWITCHING TO DEAN FOR 2004 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

Dean Media Team Uses New Video Streaming Technology To Tell Stories of Diverse Voters Switching to Howard Dean

SAN FRANCISCO – October 31, 2003 – A newly launched SF-based website,

http://www.Switch2Dean.com,

produced by the all-volunteer Dean Media Team (DMTNetwork) and inspired by a popular consumer advertising campaign, is telling one of the biggest stories of the Dean for President campaign: how many voters from other parties, former supporters of other Democratic candidates, and even former non-voters have "switched" to supporting Howard Dean.

Dean, a former five-term governor of Vermont, earlier this year was seen as a long shot for the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination. Instead, hes surged in the polls, largely as a result of the grassroots campaign waged by volunteers across the country.

The 11 ‘Switch ads created by DMT Network spotlight Dean's appeal to Americans of all ages, genders, ethnicities, and beliefs. Deans campaign includes traditional Democratic Party members, but also legions of "switch" supporters including Greens, Independents, Libertarians, and lifelong Republicans, as well as tens of thousands of people who have never been inspired to vote before much less to get involved in a campaign.

The DMT Network is a ‘virtual ad agency, a volunteer group of media professionals, inspired by Howard Deans message and dedicated to helping him get elected in 2004," said Richard Hoefer, creative director for DMTNetwork. The Switch to Dean project highlights the diverse group of people supporting Howard Dean, including many disenchanted Republicans who realize that Bush doesnt represent their ideals."

TECH: DMT Network is using cutting-edge technology to broadcast the Switch ads via the website. Working with VMailit.com, a distributor of streaming video solutions powered by VMdirect LLC, DMT Network videos play
automatically and are streamed seamlessly using Java video. They require no downloads, software, or wait time on the viewers part. The videos also are available for viewing in QuickTime® and Windows Media Player® formats directly on the website.

ABOUT: San Francisco for Dean is a grassroots group organized entirely by volunteers. For more information, visit www.SF4Dean.com. For more information on the DMT Network, visit their website at http://www.DMT1.com.
