N.Y. Skyliners Drum & Bugle Corps Hold Open House -- November 30, 2003 in Swiftwater, PA

The New York Skyliners will be hosting their annual Open House on Sunday, November 30, 2003, at Pocono Mountain East High School, in Swiftwater, PA. Sign In/Registration will be from 10 - 10:30 A.M. at the school. Anyone who is interested in finding out more about the N.Y. Skyliners, is invited to attend the open house.

The New York Skyliners will be hosting their annual Open House on Sunday, November 30, 2003, at Pocono Mountain East High School, in Swiftwater, PA. Sign In/Registration will be from 10 - 10:30 A.M. at the school. Anyone who is interested in finding out more about the N.Y. Skyliners, is invited to attend the open house. A luncheon will be served, followed by our first rehearsal from 12:30 - 4:00 P.M.

After a highly successful season in which the New York Skyliners have regained top 12 status in DCA, the corps will be fielding 44 Brass, 7 Snares, 4 Quints, 5 Bass, 4 Cymbals, a pit of 12 and a guard of 24 for the 2004 season. The Skyliners are a founding member of DCA, and will be competing in the Open Class Division for the 2004 season.     The Staff is currently working on the 2004 program, which will be formatted toward taking the next step back to the top.


2004 NEW YORK SKYLINERS STAFF

The Program Coordinator and Brass Caption Head is Ray Troxell. He has been an Instructor/adjudicator/ arranger for over 35 years, and is a 30 year member of the National Judges Association.    A member of the New Jersey Drum & Bugle Corps Hall of Fame, Ray is also a former brass caption head of DCA (Drum Corps Associates) and current chapter coordinator TOB Chapter 10. Additionally, he is a music clinician/adjudicator for tournament of bands.     Brass instructors Doreen Sandor, Tim Eick, and Robert Fizette are all returning for the 2004 season, and will be joined by Scott Root.

Darren Delaney is returning as Color Guard Caption Head & Designer, assisted by Mary Jordan. The N.Y. Skyliners' 2004 Color Guard are the DCA I & E Champions. Additionally, since Darren's return to the N.Y. Skyliners, the Color Guard has consistently placed amongst the top ten in the color guard caption, often beating guards and corps much larger. Percussion Caption Head Mark Allen is also returning to the N.Y. Skyliners for the 2004 season. Mark will be assisted by Brian Harris, with Robert "Jomba" O'Connor acting as Consultant.            

John Veninger and Mike Coppola will be the Visual Caption Heads for the 2004 Season. They will be assisted by Tim Eick and Scott Root.    

Drum Majors are Ray "Konga" Richardson, Scott Williamson, and Frank Rogers. The N.Y. Skyliners will be auditioning for 2 additional Drum Majors for the 2004 season.
