(PRWEB) November 5, 2003 - CzechInvest, the Czech Republics agency for foreign investment, announced today it will be exhibiting at Enterprise IT Week at Computer Digital Expo (CDXPO). The conference, scheduled for November 17 -- 20 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, will provide CzechInvest with a forum for highlighting the Czech Republics diverse and growing technology sector. With the availability of highly skilled engineering and multilinguistic professionals, the country leads Central and Eastern Europe in attracting foreign direct investment. World-class technology corporations currently expanding in the Czech Republic include Sun Microsystems, Logica CMG and IBM.

The Czech Republic has a growing and diversified technology sector," stated Karolina Bockova, Director of U.S.-West Operations for CzechInvest. CDXPO will provide us with a venue for showcasing our technology successes and capabilities. We continue to experience demand for our talent base from corporations across the U.S., Europe and Japan."

Overall, the Czech Republics growth since 2000 has outpaced the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Developments (OECD) average. The OECD predicts an ongoing upswing in economic growth for the Czech Republic through 2005. Drivers of the Czech Republics economic growth include ongoing increased levels of foreign direct investment (FDI) by world-class technology corporations; the continuing government commitment to investing aggressively in the nations technological infrastructure; and, with the worlds second-best math and science educational system, increased world-wide demand for its engineers and technologists.

Long renowned for its precision engineering, complex manufacturing and productivity capabilities, the Czech Republic has evolved into a leading force in the technology and services sector. Recent successes include the largest European consolidation of IT operations with the decision by DHL, the worlds largest logistics company, to move most of their IT activities from Great Britain and Switzerland to the Czech Republic. Additionally, this fall, Olympus the worlds leading camera producer has announced it will be locating a new strategic services investment to the Czech Republic, and Logica CMG, the internationally recognized system integrator, has announced plans to create a substantial new development center as well as expand its existing operations.
