Allen has over 15 years experience in venture capital, private equity, public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining VenCap International, Allen was an Executive Director in the Telecommunications Investment Banking Group at Bear, Stearns & Co. and before that was a Director in the Media and Telecommunications Group at CIBC World Markets. Before his career in investment banking, Allen was a corporate finance attorney with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius and with Buchalter, Nemer, Fields & Younger, specializing in venture capital and private equity transactions, public offerings and mergers & acquisitions. Allen received an MBA with honors from the Anderson School at UCLA, a JD from UC Hastings College of Law, and a BA in Economics from UCLA. Articles on venture capital he has authored have appeared in the European Venture Capital Journal and on AltAssets.com. He has also taught business school courses on investment banking and venture capital at San Francisco State University.
