JESUS RIDIN' SHOTGUN to have NYC debut
at New York International Independent Film Festival
JESUS RIDIN SHOTGUN, an official selection of the 2003 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival is having its NYC debut on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at the Village East Cinemas Screen 7 located at 181 2nd Avenue at 12th Street at 10:00 pm.
The short film JESUS RIDIN SHOTGUN has been an official selection of the 2003 Boston International Film Festival, the New Orleans Media Experience Film Festival, the Santiago International Shortfilm Festival (Chile), and it was awarded the Gold Award for film and video production from this years Worldfest Houston film festival and now the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival
This film was shot entirely on a subway train in Marseilles, France using English-speaking French actors. One of the lead actors, Malick Bowens, was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for his role in Out of Africa, playing the manager of Meryl Streeps characters plantation in Kenya is also well known from Ali, Tears of the Sun, Outbreak, When We Were Kings, Bopha, and The Believers.
JESUS RIDIN' SHOTGUN is about the eternal battle between good and evil, which in this case takes place on a subway train in Marseille, France, amongst a schizophrenic homeless man, a street preacher and a yo-yo salesman. But which is good and which is evil and at what price does one triumph over the other. Based on an actual occurrence on the NYC subway it goes from an urban reality tale to an apocalyptic fantasy.
