SANTA ROSA, CA (PRWEB) November 7, 2003
Share The Dream Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building scholarship opportunities, announced that it will award 43 scholarships for the 2003-2004 academic year. The awards will be made to elementary, high school and college students as well as for continuing education of nonprofit management.
These scholarship awards will pay educational expenses at accredited private and public educational and vocational training institutions and are available to nonprofit organizations that have been active clients of National Scrip Center (NSC) for at least three years. NSC, Share The Dream FoundationÂs Sponsor, is the nationÂs largest and only nonprofit scrip provider that supports fundraising efforts of nonprofit charitable organizations.
ÂNational Scrip Center is committed to benefiting education with these scholarship opportunities for students and nonprofit management professionals, said David C. Carrithers, Chief Executive Officer and President, National Scrip Center. ÂNow we are fulfilling that commitment and thatÂs particularly important in view of the drastic cuts in state education budgets. We are pleased that we can give back to nonprofit organizations through our support of the Foundation.Â
ÂShare The Dream Foundation and its mission of serving todayÂs youth through expansion of educational opportunities provides a wonderful opportunity for NSC to extend its mission further into the community, said John Klein, Esq., a Director of the Foundation. ÂWe are proud that Share The Dream will award 43 scholarships for the 2003-2004 academic year.Â
Disbursement of Share the Dream scholarships will be allocated by national regions. The scholarships will be divided as follows:
Elementary - 30 Scholarships $500 each
High School - 11 Scholarships $2,500 each
College - 1 Scholarship $4,500
Nonprofit Management (University of Saint Thomas) 1 Scholarship $3,000
Scholarship awards have been paid directly to those educational institutions in which each successful candidate is enrolled. Applications were accepted in June and the selection process has been completed. Scholarship availability for the 2004-05 academic year will be announced in January 2004.
