New Media Consultancy, JWH media services, was set up in April of 2003, when its founder John Hayes, returned to the UK after spending five years in Budapest, where he worked as the Electronic Publishing Manager for Northcliffe Newspapers (owners of the Grimsby Telegraph and Hull Daily Mail), Hungarian print operation, Lapcom Kiado Kft.

During his time in Hungary, John helped launched two Hungarian-language online newspapers as well as revamping the site of Hungarys leading English-language newspaper, The Budapest Sun (www.budapestsun.com), which has since grown to receive upwards of 200,000 page impressions every week, making it one of the most popular news and information websites in the entire region.

Despite his return to UK shores John remains close to Hungary and estimates that around 50% of his business is generated from contacts made during his time in Eastern Europe. He continues to edit the online version of The Budapest Sun as well as writing a weekly technology column for the print edition of the newspaper.
