Big Faceless PDF Library V2
BFO are proud to announce the arrival of the Big Faceless PDF Library Version 2.0 with many new features and enhancements.
Nov 2003 -- BFO are proud to announce the arrival of the Big Faceless PDF Library Version 2.0. This project has finally been delivered after nine months of intensive labour. The new release of the Java API for creating and editing PDF documents includes a host of new features and covers the enhancements you coveted most: extensible architecture for custom signature and encryption handlers, documents that can be cloned and rearranged, alpha transparency and multibyte fonts. It also includes enhanced internationalization for Acroforms, PDF/X output and seriously reduced memory footprint.
Version 2 embodies everything we learned during the lifecycle of version 1", said CTO Mike Bremford. The architecture was stripped down and rebuilt with outstanding results, particularly in terms of cloning and speed -- with a little re-factoring, users batch filling forms could see speed increases of 80% and upwards.
Thanks to a series of wrapper classes 99% of version 1 code will run unchanged allowing most users of v1.2 to reap all the benefits of the redesign.
