ANDREWS JENKINS DIRECTS NEW DANDY WARHOLS VIDEO FOR CAPITOL RECORDS

The effects-filled video for Last High" marks the fifth produced by Food Chain Films for the Dandys.

As a music video director, Andrews Jenkins has sought the incorporation of sleek modernism in his work. His collaboration with Dandy Warhols front man Courtney Taylor-Taylor for Last High," the most recent single from the bands fourth album, Welcome to the Monkey House, has proven to be a solid test of this premise.

A blend of New Romanticism with modern glitz, the 80s reminiscent Last High" is a direct homage to pop innovators Duran Duran, recalling stylistic elements from the knickerbockers and frilly blouses to the giant glacier illusion of the pop forefathers Planet Earth" video debut. Fitting imagery as Nick Rhodes produced the recent critically acclaimed album while LeBon contributed background vocals. A post-production tour de force, Last High" is a world of visual dreamscapes shrouded in an enigmatic blue haze upon which the post-modern Warhols strut their stuff.

The idea was to go for something unlike anything out there today and that meant paying homage to yesterday, kitsch, image driven and full-on 80s," explains Jenkins. Courtney [lead singer of the Dandys] and I share the same musical influences and were able to kick around a lot of creative ideas resulting in a final project that came out quite nicely," he expounded.

With the 80s experiencing a resurgence in fashion and music, Last High" (co-written by Evan Dando) is enjoying a cult-cool timeliness, garnering worldwide attention and positive reviews while opening the door for Jenkins new relationship with LA-based music video rep Randy Wilens.

Inquiries from a number of prominent national acts have already surfaced as Jenkins continues to work tirelessly in the commercial world on recent shoots for Budweiser and Coca-Cola at Food Chain Films. Although commercial directing remains Jenkins full-time gig, music videos continue to hold a soft spot in his heart. I really enjoy the excitement of creating pieces of moving visual art with other musicians," he confides.

Food Chain Films also produced the video single for this years We Used to Be Friends." Prior collaborations with the Dandy Warhols have been named as a Top 10 Video by Rolling Stone while Bohemian Like You" was named Best Music Video at SXSW 2002.
