GOOD NIGHT WEST END (GOOD MORNING WANDSWORTH)

LAST CHANCE TO CATCH TOUCAN THEATRES ACCLAIMED DOUBLE BILL AT THE WANDSWORTH ARTS FESTIVAL

Drama lovers should hurry to catch Toucan Theatres two sizzling productions before they close on 21 November. Currently showing at the Jack Beards pub, Mitcham Road, Tooting, the productions have received critical acclaim from London reviewers:

For Good night Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)":

a rip-roaring production" (Kevin Quarmby, Rogues and Vagabonds theatre website)

For Work/Life":

brilliantly observed" (Thea Wunderer, mywandsworth.co.uk)

well worth the visit"( Tony Kane, Time and Leisure magazine)

Winner of the Canada Governor Generals Award, Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)", is a hilariously irreverent take on two sacrosanct Shakespearean tragedies. Featuring sarcastic ghosts, comedy deaths and more sexual identity confusion than a night at the panto, audiences can expect Shakespeare, as he would have wanted it".

Work/Life" sees local playwright, John Anderson, scrutinising the absurd reality ritual commonly known as the 9-5" and holding a fractured mirror up to our daily neuroses. Perfect for work-a-holics, work-a-phobics, and everyone who has come to blows with their boss.

The cast for the two productions includes Philip Hayden ('Corporal Jones in Band of Brothers") and LAMDA-graduate Leon Stewart (star of the BBCs The Colour of Justice"). Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)" is directed by Catherine Harvey, who trained under Sir Ian McKellen at Oxford University. Work/Life" is directed by Lightening Ensemble Theatre founder, Marie McCarthy.

Both productions are supported by Tooting Town Centre Partnership and the Canadian High Commission; the only plays to receive such support in this years Festival.

A last chance to catch an educational talk and put your questions to cast and crew is on Sunday 16 November after the matinee performance. Entrance includes in the show ticket price.
