Indi Guitarist Denis Taaffe Considered For Grammy Award In 9 Categories in the 2003 46th annual Grammy Awards

Solo Electric guitarist Denis Taaffe Releases his 4th independent CD release Modern Guitar.vol.4: An evening with Guitarist Denis Taaffe just in time to be considered for a Grammy

Bloomington, IN (PRWEB) November 9, 2003 -- Indiana based Solo Electric guitarist Denis Taaffe, who uses regular guitar and guitar loops done on the fly has released his 4th independent CD release "Modern Guitar. vol.4: An evening with Guitarist Denis Taaffe" just in time to be included in the NARAS 46th Annual Grammy Awards entry list from which the Grammy Award nominees are chosen. The voting members of NARAS will vote on the top 5 from each category in the entry list who will be actual Grammy nominees.

With the release of his new Live CD "Modern Guitar. Vol.4: An Evening with Guitarist Denis Taaffe", Denis is being considered for a Grammy Award in the following categories:

Record of the year for the track "All that Matters"

Best new Artist for 2003

Album of the Year

Best Instrumental arrangement for the track "Liquid guitar"

Best Instrumental Composition for the track "All that Matters"

Best Pop Instrumental Performance for the tracks "After the Rain" & "All that Matters"

Best New age Album

Best Jazz Instrumental solo for the track "Eclipse"

Best engineered Album / non classical Album

Denis, who is primarily a rock guitarist, was included in some unusual style categories this year which include new age, jazz and Pop as his 4th CD is different than his previous 3 rock releases in that it is a live CD and also includes tastes of different styles including rock, blues, jazz and pop. Denis comments: "To be considered in non rock categories really pleases me as I really tried to stretch into different realms stylistically on this live CD rather than just relying on the style I was most accustomed to which is rock".

Denis will keep his fingers crossed when the Grammy nominees will be announced though as he states: "Winning or losing for me is not the issue. I suppose it is more to be taken seriously and that my music as an independent is just as worthy as any other musicians who enjoys the benefits of a record label backing them. Each CD I have released has been a truly independent effort, so I must take on the responsibilities of a record label as well as being a musician. To have my music recognized does lend some credibility and is a small reward for me, but it is the music that matters most!!!".

Denis was also considered for a Grammy Award in the 44th and 45th Grammy Awards as well for his previous 2 CD releases Modern Rock Guitar vol.2 & 3 and now for the third year in a row in the 46th annual Grammy Awards with the release of "Modern Guitar vol.4: An Evening with Guitarist Denis Taaffe".
