LA-BASED ARENAS STREET PUBLISHING LAUNCHES WITH AMERICAN BACHELOR PHOTO BOOK

American Bachelor, a collection of work by photographer Michael Rababy, will be the first book from LA-Based Arenas Street Publishing. Arenas Street Publishing will focus on illustrated photo books, with an emphasis on projects that challenge current cultural perceptions.

Arenas Street Publishing, a new Los Angeles-based publishing house specializing in illustrated art & photography books, will be debuting their first title, American Bachelor, in early November. The book is a collection of work by photographer Michael Rababy, and includes selected quotes collected from extensive interviews with bachelors from across the country. The book will be distributed in outlets such as Urban Outfitters and Barnes & Nobles, and through www.americanbachelor.com beginning early November. The book will retail for $30.00.

A timely addition to the dialogue in todays media surrounding the single male, American Bachelor takes an honest look at the freedom and spirit of that period in a mans life before marriage. Explains Rababy, The book is an ethnographic study of a place where many men have tread - as universal as it is, we dont often think about it. I realized that there were people around me who were living these lives, so I started asking questions."

Michael shoots from the hip, and his photography is true and often comic. He prefers natural lighting and is not concerned with perfection. His interest lies in capturing genuine human expression and the essence of a moment. American Bachelor marks his first published book.

American Bachelor is hardbound, at 138 pages, and 10x10 inches. Damon Robinson of DMN Design was responsible for the fitting art direction. The book is being distributed by Trucetriche.
