Publishers of family business histories joins the Atlanta based Family Business Institute

Family business history books and videos are key to helping create the family business legacy

As part of its mission to provide broader and deeper services to family businesses, the Family Business Institute announces the addition of The Storyline Group into the fold. For more than a decade, The Storyline Group has published history books and produced video histories for family businesses, corporations and associations.
In the late 1980s, Storylines founder and president, Phillip Bellury, discovered a missing link in the marketing and branding programs of many family businesses. I was in the advertising business at the time," says Bellury, We were constantly working with companies who had rich histories and fascinating, compelling stories to tell, but they were not always taking advantage of that. What we do through publishing and broadcasting histories is help clients maximize the power of storytelling and see their stories as valuable assets that can create enduring family legacies. The content we create for books, videos or television can significantly enhance their public relations, marketing and branding programs."
The Storyline Groups portfolio of recently completed projects includes family history books and television programs for H.J. Russell & Company, the Ellijay Telephone Company, US Bariatrics and The Warren Featherbone Company. In most cases, Storyline provides turnkey publishing and broadcast production services, but their experience and expertise are broader than that. They also work with clients to develop and produce co-authored message" books, corporate image brochures and videos, instructional workbooks and training videos, annual reports, magazines, newsletters and content for websites.
Ive co-authored three books with Gus Whalen, the CEO of AlexisPlaysafe and founder of The Warren Featherbone Foundation," says Bellury. Gus wanted to reach a broad audience with -- among other things -- key messages about the interdependence between family businesses and communities, so we wrote and distributed this book trilogy to support that. The benefits and positive results have been phenomenal, not only for the business and the family, but also for its value in educating entire industries and young people in high schools and universities."
Other family business histories that The Storyline Group has developed and produced include The Brock Candy Company in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Herr Foods/Herrs Potato Chips in southeastern Pennsylvania; and Up and Over, a memorial book about Frank Carter, a well-known Atlanta real estate developer.
