GOVERNER LOOKS TO NORTH COUNTRY FOR NEW BOARD MEMBER
Glen, New Hampshire, November 10, 2003. Governor Craig Benson recently nominated Scott Moffett, a certified martial mediator, of Glen to serve on the New Hampshire Martial Mediator Certification Board. The nomination was confirmed by the Executive Council in a unanimous vote. Prior to the confirmation hearing Councilor Raymond S. Burton spoke with Moffett at some length regarding the responsibilities of the Board.
The Martial Mediator Certification Board was created in 1990 through state legislation. The Board has primary responsibility for the examination, certification, oversight and discipline of certified marital mediators in New Hampshire. Additionally, the Board is charged with the development of continuing professional education and other professional requirements for re-certification of martial mediators. Moffett also serves as a board member of the New Hampshire Conflict Resolution Association.
Moffett became interested in the field of mediation some fifteen years ago when he was invited to submit a proposal for a strategic marketing plan to Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services, (JAMS), a California based mediation and arbitration organization which is now nationwide. I was captivated by a process that granted participants a high degree of control over the outcome of their dispute, while providing them with direction and guidance from trained professionals", reported Moffett. He also appreciates the fact that mediation can save time and money in comparison to other forms of dispute resolution. Moffett went on to receive mediation training in San Francisco and San Diego as well with the Alternative Center for Mediation in Keene, New Hampshire. BridgeCroft, LLC, Moffetts mediation service organization, accepts clients with disputes ranging from marital, relationship and family issues to those dealing with business, governmental and trade disagreements.
In addition to his mediation practice, Mr. Moffett has overall responsibility for the management and operation of a direct marketing consulting firm he founded in 1992, Target Point Marketing. His clients have included Bank of America, Central States Indemnity, G.E. Capitol, TRW, the Simon Wiesenthal Center and other non-profit accounts. Until recently, he supervised the creative and marketing services at PEP-Direct, a direct marketing company located in Wilton, New Hampshire specializing in direct mail services for the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans of America, as well as other large non-profit organizations. Moffett can be contacted at 603.383.9033 or smoffett@bridgecroft.com
