A recent partnership with a nationwide Wi-Fi provider, Thinwires, provides consumers the opportunity to check email and surf the web while eating a Whopper. Starting this week, select stores will become Wi-Fi hotspots", offering high-speed wireless Internet access to anyone with an 802.11 capable device such as a laptop computer or PDA. The 802.11 technology used to provide the service sends an Internet connection through the air, comparable to the way cordless phones work. Instant access to the service is purchased through BK Wi-Fi Meal Pass cards, which are available for 99¢ when ordering a Burger King meal.

The first Tulsa area Burger King locations offering wireless Internet access are 8310 E. 71st Street, and 10728 E. 81st Street.
