A PLACE CALLED HOME is proud to announce the Grand Opening of their new FOOTLIGHTERS DANCE STUDIO on Sunday, November 16th at 1:30 PM at the center located at 2830 South Central Avenue in South Los Angeles.
A PLACE CALLED HOME (APCH) provides at-risk youth (ages 9-20) with a secure, positive family environment where they can regain hope and belief, earn trust and self-respect, and learn skills to lead to a productive lifestyle free of the gangs, drugs and poverty that surrounds them. Over the past 10 years, APCH has evolved into a model youth facility that regularly receives national attention.
The Dance Program at APCH was founded in 1997 by actress/dancer JASMINE GUY and is directed under the tutelage of her sister, MONICA GUY. The gym facility which formerly housed the dance program was in dire need of expansion and remodeling with additional space required for classes, performances, dressing rooms and offices. THE FOOTLIGHTERS, an energetic group of women dedicated to helping sick and underserved children in the Greater Los Angeles area donated the funds for the new remodel and expansion and will be honored at the Grand Opening ceremony.
The new FOOTLIGHTERS DANCE STUDIO will serve over 150 students weekly and at the Grand Opening ceremony on Sunday, several numbers will be performed by the young dancers, along with dedications by DEBRAH CONSTANCE, Founder of APCH, JASMINE GUY, Founder of the APCH Dance Program and MONICA GUY, Director Of the APCH Dance Studio.
