Biometric Digest Hits the Airwaves With Face To Fingerprint"
Identification, privacy and security using biometric identification featured on weekly talk show on Internet radio
St. Louis, MO – November 14, 2003 - The Biometric Digest announced they will produce a weekly talk show starting December 2, 2003 for 13 weeks to be broadcast on Internet radio on VoiceAmerica.com. The program entitled From Face to Fingerprint – Focus on Security, Privacy and Identification" is hosted by Bill Rogers, publisher of the Biometric Digest" newsletter and the Biometric Information Directory." The hourly show will air every Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Pacific time, 3:00 p.m. Mountain, 4:00 p.m. Central and 5:00 p.m. Eastern time. VoiceAmerica.com will re-broadcast the show 12 hours later for their international audience.
Weve put together an aggressive schedule with a targeted list of speakers and programs focusing on identification, privacy and security issues," said Bill Rogers. While some other organizations have given lip service to promoting biometrics, were taking these issues to the public." Biometric identification technology is installed in hundreds of thousands of locations across the country and around the world. Many major companies and organizations employ the technology for both computer and physical access, by law enforcement, benefit programs, childcare, testing, financial institutions, government, passports, the travel industry and many others."
Rogers added, We will interview a number of people in the identification business and will accept phone calls from listeners. We think our audience will enjoy and have fun while listening and learning. Well offer some off-the-wall" commentary and can almost guarantee an entertaining and informative program.
Listeners will hear case studies on how biometric identification technology is being used in businesses worldwide for a variety of security applications.
Positive identification is more critical today than ever before. For years, we identified ourselves by something we know – our social security number, our mothers maiden name, or a personal identification number. We also identified ourselves with something we had – a drivers license, an ATM or a work ID card, or a key to the building. Today, we have technology that provides positive identification using fingerprint, iris recognition, your face, hand geometry, voice, signature and others," said Rogers.
Bill Rogers got involved in biometric technology in 1994 when contacted by a supplier seeking his help to introduce the technology to the financial industry. He started publishing the monthly Biometric Digest newsletter in 1996. In 1999, the company introduced a weekly supplement called Biometric Media Weekly (BMW). They developed a directory on the industry which today features profiles on more than 520 suppliers of biometric products and services. The Biometric Information Directory is available on-line at http://www.biometricinfodirectory.com.
A noted technology authority, consultant and futurist, Bill moderates several national conferences on biometrics, speaks frequently at credit union seminars and conferences, and co-sponsors several conferences for credit unions.
