Okoye grew up poor in a third world country, Nigeria, with little or no opportunity to improve his life. Arriving in the United States with practically nothing, Christian turned his life to become one of premier, All-Pro running backs in the National Football League for the Kansas City. Because of this, he brings the knowledge of what it takes to be self-motivated.

His transition from Nigeria to America and from Track and Field to Football makes Christians accomplishments a very unique story.

"As a motivational speaker, Christian talks about how he has overcome life and sports obstacles and converted hopeless situations to hopeful possibilities."

"He will entertain your audience on how he hurdled difficult situations including some embarrassing but educational moments," concludes Hunt.

CHRISTIAN OKOYE BIO

Okoye, AKA "The Nigerian Nightmare" played many great games in his seven-year career as a Kansas City Chief. He went on to set records in rushing yardage and touchdowns for the 43-year old franchise and became the Chiefs all time leading rusher.

His career was an outstanding achievement considering Okoye played football for only three years before playing for Kansas City. Prior to playing for the Chiefs, he played football at Azusa-Pacific University as well as competing in track and field; where he won seven national titles in shot-put, discus and hammer throw as well as amassing 17 All American honors in track and field.

In 1989 Okoye enjoyed his finest season for the Chiefs rushing for 1480 yards. In addition to his stats he collected a number of awards after the season: named Running Back of the Year, First team All-Pro, voted AFC Player of the Year by the NFL Players Association, received the Mackie Award for most touchdowns by an AFC player, voted Chiefs' Most Valuable Player, the Quarterback Club named him NFL MVP and won the Ed Block Courage award, one of the most prestigious awards in football. He later became the 30th member of the Chiefs' Hall of Fame.

Okoye approaches his work the same way he did in his football days, with power and determination. After his retirement in 1993 he began his present day work helping people assess and redesign their fitness programs focusing on nutrition and exercise and founded Okoye Fitness and Nutrition.
He also started the Christian Okoye Foundation to help inner-city kids develop means and desire to improving themselves and their respective communities through education.
