Marathon Endurance Virtual FTserver Software Adopted by Fujitsu for Use in PRIMERGY Series Servers

Enables Industry's First Simple, Affordable, Fault and Disaster Tolerant Servers

Boxborough, Mass. (PRWEB) November 15, 2003 -- Marathon Technologies Corporation, the only developer and supplier of fault and disaster tolerant solutions for industry standard Microsoft® Windows® platforms, announced today that Fujitsu Limited, a leading provider of high availability products and services worldwide, will include Marathon's patented Endurance® Virtual FTserver(tm) software in its Intel®-based PRIMERGY server line. Marathon and Fujitsu have signed a significant OEM agreement that will enable Fujitsu to ship PRIMERGY servers with the Endurance software, thereby providing a cost-effective, fault- and disaster-tolerant Intel Architecture (IA) Server solution for the entry-level to mid-range server market.

"This powerful combination of Marathon Endurance technology and PRIMERGY servers will be invaluable to customers who require maximum availability for data and applications in an IA Server environment," said Akira Yamanaka, Group President, Server Systems Group, Fujitsu Limited. "Through this agreement, Fujitsu will address a significant unmet need for affordable uptime in the large commodity server market."

"We are pleased to be working with Fujitsu to deliver a solution that provides simple, cost-effective, fault and disaster tolerance for Intel-based servers," said George C. Tranos, President and CEO, Marathon Technologies Corporation. "Companies can now get the reliability of a mainframe in a flexible, easy-to-manage Windows server."

About Endurance Virtual FTserver

Based on Marathon's field-proven, patented technology, Endurance VirtualFTserver software unites two unmodified industry-standard servers into a single, fully redundant configuration that appears to the network, applications, OS, and system administrators as a single fault tolerant server. Endurance software keeps applications running nonstop by detecting, isolating, and operating through failures and disasters with no interruption in service. Endurance software computes through component failures, delivering seamless service to end users with no loss of application data, no need for transaction rollback, and no loss of performance.
