New Group Wants Young Professionals In Syracuse NY To "Get Hip To SYP"!

A new club for young professionals of the ages 21-45, who live and work in and around Syracuse NY is introduced to the area. Syracuse Young Professionals aims to create a social network through a variety of fun events and activities.

Is there room in Syracuse, New York for another social organization targeting the young professional demographic? Syracuse Young Professionals co-founders Dan Olivadoti and Jack Wheeler answer with a resounding "Yes!" The newly created group, called SYP for short, was formed for the sole purpose of helping upwardly mobile Gen X-ers (as well as those just on the edge of the Boomers and Gen-Y) to enhance their social circles. Olivadoti explains, "Today's young professionals are typically eating, sleeping and breathing their chosen careers. It's very difficult to find the time to get out and meet new people and cultivate friendships. Through SYP, we hope to offer a variety of social, sports and charitable activities every month that those in our demographic will be excited to take advantage of." Olivadoti, 35, who formerly served on the boards of several other local organizations decided to strike out on his own venture with Wheeler, 33, in the fall of 2003. "I wanted to create an organization that was very member-focused, as did Jack", Olivadoti continued. "We listen and respond to the wants and needs of our members. We strive to offer the kinds of events that they are asking for." And the co-founders of SYP don't look at the other young professional groups as competitors. "Not at all" Olivadoti said, "If anything, we want to work cooperatively with the other clubs, as each is able to offer something different and unique. There is room for everyone. I've always said that I don't expect SYP to be the only young professional organization that someone joins, but I hope that we'll be their favorite!" Membership in SYP is open to all young professionals, both single and married, ages 21-45.
