ENIKOS RELEASES WORLDS FIRST MPEG-21 PRODUCT - DICREATOR, THE DIGITAL ITEM EDITOR

Enikos has released DICreator, the first in a family of products supporting the MPEG-21 Multimedia Framework. DICreator allows users to fully explore the potential of the new MPEG-21 Digital Items as containers for their content.

(PRWEB) November 16, 2003 --Enikos, a new multimedia company, has released the first in a family of products supporting the MPEG-21 Multimedia Framework. MPEG-21, the latest of the MPEG standards introduces Digital Items as a 'virtual container for multimedia content delivery. The full framework supports Rights, Adaptation and DRM mechanisms and is expected to have an immediate impact on music and video distribution as well as broadcasting industries. DICreator allows users to fully explore the potential of the new MPEG-21 Digital Items as containers for their content. The easy to use package hides the complexity of the Digital Item schema behind an intelligent interface that minimises programming and maximises creativity. DI Creator allows users to easily create, edit and view Digital Items built from current content and metadata.

DI Creator consists of a full GUI based editor and a customisable Digital Item browser. Both have internal multimedia capabilities and the ability to launch external viewers for specialist file types. DI Creator provides a fully validating parser, editor, browser and viewer for Digital Items conformant to MPEG-21 Part 2 (ISO 21000-2). Designed for easy Digital Item viewing and authoring, multiple browser and editor windows can be manipulated with the following features:

DI Editor
•   Simple to use, hierarchical view of Digital Items.
•   Intelligent contextual menus for adding valid elements before, after or as a child of the selected Digital Item elements.
•   Display and rendering of media Resources (including launching of external players if required).
•   Insert media resources quickly by:

•   Drag and Drop of media files from operating system file browser windows.
•   Intelligent hint screens for easy insertion of common element combinations and resources.
•   Assisted entry of attribute values via pull-down menus.
•   Validation of Digital Items on demand, and on load and save.
•   Full copy and paste of hierarchy across and within DIs.

DI Browser
•   Split pane windows for navigation views, content views, and message area.
•   Display of summary Description of selected Item including text and other media descriptors.
•   Intelligent presentation of Choices as image thumbnails, radio buttons, check boxes or menus.

•   Simple interface with history of Digital Items browsed.

A free evaluation download and full on-line purchase (AU$800) of DI Creator is available at www.enikos.com. Future versions of the software will support the new parts of MPEG-21 as they reach International Standard.
