AdRem Software launches public beta of its flagship network management solution -- AdRem NetCrunch 3.0

Highlights of the new version: - physical topology mapping - improved application monitoring - fine-grained real-time monitoring - robust alerting and reporting - full-fledged SNMP management; - web access

Las Vegas, NV -- November 14, 2003 -- AdRem Software, provider of enterprise network management solutions, will be showcasing the inaugural public beta edition of AdRem NetCrunch 3.0 at the upcoming COMDEX 2003 conference in Las Vegas, November 16-20, 2003. AdRems booth at the event will be located in the Windows Server Systems section of the Microsoft Partner.

The latest version of AdRem NetCrunch, dubbed by the company as the breakthrough release," will introduce physical topology mapping, enhanced map customization, improved application monitoring, full-blown SNMP management, more robust availability/performance alerting and reporting, and a web browser interface. With its comprehensive and integrated network monitoring, alerting and reporting functionality, AdRem NetCrunch was designed for small and mid-size organizations and departments that seek to reduce the costs and complexity of managing their multi-location, multi-platform networks.

The cornerstone of the new AdRem NetCrunch is the idea of humanizing and rationalizing the way networks are controlled and interpreted," says Brandon Drew, AdRem Software International Sales Manager. Our goal is to foster synergy between human intelligence and technology
through customization, centralized automation, out-of-the-box functionality, mobility and ease of use. Nowadays administrators are overseeing increasingly complex environments grouping a multitude of components and data that need to be sorted and prioritized. Unlike many tools in the market, NetCrunch doesnt lose sight of the human factor -- it embeds intelligence and best practices essential for boosting productivity, facilitating better collaboration and making informed decisions about network management activities."

With AdRem NetCrunch 3.0, AdRem Software hopes to bolster its position in the end-to-end segment of the enterprise network management market. Our ambition was to create a complete solution for integrated network fault, availability and performance management no matter what platform, application, device, or service. With this release, NetCrunch will become an enterprise-class solution that comes at small-business prices. This is how we hope to win small and mid size businesses as well as government organizations and educational establishments," continues Drew.

Scheduled to be widely available in the first quarter of 2004, AdRem NetCrunch 3.0 automatically builds physical and logical network topologies and visualizes relationships among various network components. The program provides the facility to build any number of custom maps based on multiple criteria such as location, business function, platform type, device importance, and many more. With the sophisticated mapping engine and around-the-clock monitoring, network managers can determine the root cause of slowdowns and outages on networks, applications, and devices such as servers, routers and ports.

To help users quickly detect and correct abnormal behavior in the network, NetCrunch delivers a variety of notification methods (e-mail, modem, pager, ICQ, SNMP trap, cell phone text message) and automated corrective actions (e.g. NT service restart, system reboot, running of Windows commands, Linux scripts, Novell NLMs.) The programs robust alerting engine features alert escalation and role-based notification groups. Alerts can be defined for individual nodes, maps and atlases.

AdRem NetCrunchs web browser interface ships with a built-in HTTP server, which eliminates the need to configure a web server. The bottom line is that network statistics can be accessed across an Internet or Intranet connection, so that network issues can be detected, diagnosed and corrected remotely.

Another major enhancement in NetCrunch is related to the programs reporting mechanism, which allows users to schedule pre-configured event, availability and performance reports that can present high-level metrics, or zoom in on individual devices, groups of devices, systems and interfaces.
