Platinum Plug Entertainment is an organization that enhances the skills of the up and coming music industry professionals. The organization also provides urban youth with the opportunity to involve themselves in a variety of music industry projects (live shows, promotions, marketing, studio sessions, TV productions, and industry workshops). The 2005 inception year of the Las Vegas Music Awards (LVMA) promises to begin the planting of Las Vegas roots as the next 'Music Capital of the World'. Las Vegas Music Alliance Corp(a non-profit entertainment-oriented company) in association with Platinum Plug Entertainment, Inc. ( a Las Vegas based Music Production/Management Record label) has made admirable steps to put the LVMA project together. Currently, a venue is in preparation to be secured to host and/or sponsor this 2005 event. The LVMA is designed to be an extravaganza event featuring live music from the best bands in Las Vegas and recording artists making their mark nationally. Awards will be presented by well known personalities. This event provides a place for thousands of people involved in music to gather once a year and celebrate Las Vegas' music scene. The LVMA is an annual event that will open doors to help independent artists receive the recognition they deserve. Unlike the Grammy's and American Music Awards, which are based solely on units sold, the LVMA gives recognition to unsigned acts that have took the grassroots approach to exposing themselves and CD projects by recording their albums independently, showcasing, and creating a fan-base. That being the case, the criteria for this show is based upon an artists ability to market themselves, as well as the professionalism they exhibit. In this day and age, if an artist doesn't understand at least the basics of self promotion, then they are missing a big part of the knowledge that will make them successful. If you are really serious about making it in the music business then realize that the word following music is...business. This is not a show about winners and losers, but one of honoring all hard working musicians.
