JHARKHAND STEALS THE SHOW AT INDIA INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR 2003

NEW DELHI, November 15, 2003: On the third anniversary of the formation of the State, Jharkhand has put up an attractive theme show at the 23rd India International Trade Fair 2003 [IITF] which began here today. The President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, had inaugurated the IITF at Pragati Maidan.

NEW DELHI, November 15, 2003: On the third anniversary of the formation of the State, Jharkhand has put up an attractive theme show at the 23rd India International Trade Fair 2003 [IITF] which began here today. The President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, had inaugurated the IITF at Pragati Maidan.

The 10000-square feet pavilion is dominated by a 20-foot-high geodesic dome that showcases the themes of development, industrial promotion and tourism through attractive panels that impart an international look to the pavilion. With green and red as the dominant colours, the pavilion sets the tone for the two main aims of the exhibition. While Green evokes the natural beauty of the state that can attract tourists, Red symbolizes the vibrancy and vigour of the States quest for industrialization. The Directorate of Industries, Government of Jharkhand, has taken up a focused approach for the promotion and growth of Small and Medium Enterprises in the State.

Along with the display put up by the State Governments Directorate of Industries and industrial area development authorities, the Jharkhand pavilion provides a platform to industrial units from the State to showcase their capabilities. In all, Government and private bodies have taken 23 stalls which showcase the investor-friendly steps being taken by the Government of Jharkhand and its commitment towards industrialization.

To inform visitors and increase interest among prospective investors of the steps being taken by the State Government to promote industrialization, an exhaustive range of promotional literature is being displayed and distributed at the pavilion. These include brochures on mines and minerals, incentives being offered to prospective investors, tourist attractions, Special Economic Zone [SEZ].

The participants which have put up stalls at the pavilion are:
Department of Tourism, various units under the banner of the Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority, Bokaro Industrial Area Development Authority and Ranchi Industrial Area Development Authority, the Jharkhand State Agricultural Marketing Board, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Cummins Limited, Usha Martin Limited, Chotanagpur Graphites, Kala Mandir, Rural Development Department, HEC Ranchi, SAIL Bokaro Steel Plant, CCL, Modi Group, Horticulture & Agro Forestry Research Programme, La Opala RG Limited, Subarnarekha Multipurpose Project, Indal, McNally Bharat, ACC, Shankar Wire, Chotanagpur Craft Development Society.
