(PRWEB) November 18, 2003 --Following on the heels of area cultural events, like the recent South Bend "Art Beat", several Artists from Northern Indiana will assemble at the home of local Artist Thomas Zuber. Mr. Zuber, an area artist and art teacher, is inviting three Goshen artists and one other South Bend artist to display their creations in his home.

Ms Elinor Thompson, recently retired from teaching art to hundreds of South Bend students, will be exhibiting several mixed-media watercolor/calligraphy pieces. Ms Thompson has been praised for her ability to get anyone to do art, and her own works provide constant inspiration. I am honored to be able to host the work of such a master in my home." Mr. Zuber said.

Artists also included in the Art Open House are Adam and Megan Fleming. He sculpts stone, she paints, tutors and does commission work. Both work out of their studio in Goshen and have shown in numerous local art fairs and competitions.

Recently, Mrs. Fleming stated that she likes to work in series because most ideas cannot be fully contained within a single painting."

Her husband, Adam, says that Artists see the same world everyone else does, and there is nothing new under the sun. Producing art is a way...to tell stories so that people can see the nothing new-ness of our world in a new way, and perhaps get a reminder, a fresh glimpse of a beautiful world, and through that, a hope for the future."

Photographer Steve Keener summarizes his work by claiming, Im inspired by people. My goal is to capture [each] meaningful human interaction as if it were the only thing that mattered in the world." His piece, entitled Love After Alzheimers" expresses this vision. Some of Mr. Keeners work also won the Best Still Life Award in the Goshen Photographers Guild, and received placement in the Midwest Museum of American Arts Juried competition.

Works on exhibit will include photography, painting, (acrylics, oils and watercolor), mixed-media calligraphy, and both stone and clay sculpture. All pieces are for sale at less than gallery prices, and a limited number of gift items, such as artist-made stationary and holiday cards will also be offered.

The Second Annual Artist Open House will be open to the public and held at 1202 Portage Ave., South Bend, IN on Saturday, December 6th from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. and Sunday, December 7th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.
