Ivanhoe, NC (PRWEB) November 18, 2003 -Today Actor Joe Maggard(Love Field,One Christmas)has announced plans for a Film Documentary entitled "The Bozo Syndrome" about his work as the Corporate Icon Ronald McDonald. "For the last 8 years I have documented coercion, threats, intimidation and manipulation by McDonald's and Leo Burnett Advertising against me due directly to my work as Ronald McDonald" says Maggard. Maggard's production Company Bozo Syndrome Films will produce and release the Documentary early 2004.
According to an article in The Wall St. Journal on May 29, 2003, Mr. Maggard is an actor "who portrayed Ronald in the mid-'90s."
"I intend to shine a very bright light on the inner workings of the production of television commercials for McDonald's and Leo Burnett Advertising" says Maggard. "Indeed the public deserves to know how McDonald's uses people when they need them, then just discards them like so much waste when they are used up" Maggard stated. According to court records in Califoria a former franchisee Sandra Darling sued McDonald's for fraud and was awarded $16 million from a jury earlier this year. "McDonald's tactics were exposed during the trial with Ms. Darling, where the same tactics of intimidation, threats and coercion were used on her" says Maggard.
In a letter from McDonald's attorney Anthony Stamato to Mr. Maggard, McDonald's has demanded the return of the Ronald McDonald Costume, which Maggard replied "we will let a judge and jury decide who has breached the Covenant between us." Mr. Maggard has vowed a court fight against the "McBullies!"
