"WIECZNA TREBLINKA" PUBLISHED IN POLAND

The Polish edition of the groundbreaking book "ETERNAL TREBLINKA: Our Treatment of Animals and the Holocaust," written by Dr. Charles Patterson and translated and published by Roman Rupowski, has now been published.

The Polish edition of "ETERNAL TREBLINKA: Our Treatment of Animals and the Holocaust" (New York: Lantern Books, 2002--the highly acclaimed, controversial book by American historian and Holocaust educator Charles Patterson, Ph.D.--has been translated by Roman Rupowski and published by his "Vega!POL" Publishing House in Opole.

Thanks to special grants from two American animal protection groups--the Farm Animal Reform Movement (FARM) and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)--copies of WIECZNA TREBLINKA are being placed in the libraries of all major cities in Poland.

The book's title comes from the Yiddish writer and Nobel Laureate, Isaac Bashevis Singer, to whom the book is dedicated. Singer, who grew up in Warsaw, was the first major modern author to use the Holocaust analogy to describe the exploitation and slaughter of animals. "In relation to them, all people are Nazis," he wrote, "for the animals it is an eternal Treblinka."

The book has also been published in Italy (UN'ETERNA TREBLINKA) by Editori Riuniti in Rome and in the Czech Republic (VECNA TREBLINKA) by the Publishing House Prah in Prague.

Zweitausendeins Versand Dienst GmbH in Frankfurt am Main will publish the German edition in June 2004.

Publishing houses in Israel, Spain, and The Netherlands are also reading the book for possible publication.
