How to eliminate Spam a simple solution

Author Scotland Miles proposes a novel approach to eliminating spam.

There is much talk of the problem of "spam" these days, and rightfully so. Spam has been increasing every year, as anyone with an e-mail address can woefully attest. But the solution, points out author Scotland Miles, is not as difficult nor insurmountable as it seems.
"Most people assume that their e-mail address is stolen on-line, and propagated around the internet from spammer to spammer.", says Miles. "Not necessarily so. The web-crawling programs that spammers commonly use look for things that LOOK like e-mail addresses," Miles continues. " The solution is to get rid of the "@" sign in e-mail addresses."
Miles explains that the "@" sign is rarely used in written correspondence, outside of an e-mail address. So when a web-crawling program sees something like "xxxxxx@xxx.xxx" it assumes it is an e-mail address. If it isn't, it's no big deal, since there's obviously no postage involved. "Get rid of the "@" sign, and you'll get rid of 95% of junk e-mail" Miles states matter-of-factly. Editor's note: Scotland Miles is author of "Don't Take Me to Your Leader" available at better on-line bookstores.
