Everything old is new again:
Canadian author reinvents Victorian erotica for modern goths
(PRWEB) November 18, 2003 --The second volume of "The Darker Passions" series, "The Darker Passions: Frankenstein" by Nancy Kipatrick, writing as Amarantha Knight, is now available for eager erotica readers everywhere.
Following the exploits of a youthful Victor Frankenstein, his fiancee, and his scientific investigations into human lustfulness, Kilpatrick reinvents both the Victorian gothic novel and classic Victorian smut in one masterful stroke. Featuring themes of bisexuality, polyamory, and the delightful sadomasochistic games Frankenstein and his lover play, The Darker Passions: Frankenstein manages to keep the tension of the time-period setting while at the same time appealing to the modern erotic adventurer.
Kilpatrick, who also writes vampire novels (Near Death, Pocket Books) and is the author of the forthcoming handbook of all things goth "THE goth BIBLE" (St. Martin's Press), is a resident of Montreal. Like Anne Rice before her, she originally published her erotica under a pseudonym, but now has added her name to the book's covers.
"The Darker Passions series is perfect for Circlet Press," says publisher Cecilia Tan, who acquired the books for her list when she received numerous requests for them after the previous editions went out of print from another publisher. "Our whole purpose is to publish erotica which pushes the envelope of the imagination."
