For effortless integration with existing designs, NicheStack, Release 2.0 TCP/IPv4 is backwards compatible with NicheStack, Rel. 1.91 implementations. More importantly, NicheStack 2.0 introduces an extended set of APIs to support and manage dual IPv4/IPv6 network-enabled devices.

Now, users can use a secured web browser interface to manage NicheStack-enabled devices with the same encryption and security that they use on a daily basis to manage their financial transactions. Release 2.0 also includes a collection of recent updates that relate to recent CERT security advisories.
Guaranteed Interoperability and RFC Compliance
Release 2.0 maintains that high level of commitment to interoperability and open standards compliance and provides additional protocol support options:
•   NicheStack TCP/IPv4 now includes IP Filtering
•   WebPort/SSL is a new software package that includes the proven InterNiche embedded Web Server with our SSL/TLS toolkit to make device management both easy and secure
•   WebPort and WebPort/SSL HTTP Server packages now include the Form-Based File Upload functionality -- files can be uploaded to an embedded device with WebPort, resulting in a cleaner design, easy SSL security and a small footprint
•   Portable PPP has been enhanced with the Mobile IPv4 Configuration Options for PPP-ICMP
•   The InterNiche SNMP device management software packages were updated to include the latest SNMP core standards, as well as, the Coexistence between Version 1, Version 2, and Version 3 of the Internet-standard Network Management Framework
•   NicheStack and ChronOS (µC/OS-II) RealView Debugger plug-in modules now ship with ARM CPU-specific licenses. By opening OS and TCP/IP awareness windows, the developer has immediate debug access to InterNiche source code, RTOS objects, critical network parameters and trace information. When used with the ARM Development Suite and RealView Debugger Rthese modules greatly simplify the integration of network applications and enable the development cutting edge network devices.
•   The NicheTool device management application, which is included at no cost with the InterNiche WebPort HTTP Server software, has been enhanced and now includes an updated CPU Profiling page.
Availability
NicheStack 2.0 is available as highly portable C"-language source code for all current embedded 8, 16 and 32-bit CPU/MPU and MCU architectures, IDE platforms, embedded operating systems and RTOSs. It ships with example ports for Intel-i32 / Microsoft Windows development platforms, as well as for a number of popular hardware evaluation platforms and toolchains.
