Dallas, TX- "Air" is a compelling drama and mystery that has captivated audiences from the stage since it debuted in 2001 as "Breathing Room". After seeing it several times, director Kevin Nash wanted to bring the story to the screen. Adapted from Vicki Caroline Cheatwood's stage play, the movie follows a woman overwhelmed by a tragedy from the past and the fear of facing her future. "I was delighted to find that Vicki was also interested in the idea of adapting the play for screen", says Nash. At the time, Kevin was involved with a film project and did not have time to write the script. However, Vicki surprised him several months later when she presented him with a completed screenplay. "When I read it, I knew this had to be my next project", added Nash.

In the film, Cindee Mayfield plays the troubled character, Deb, who has created her own prison by tenaciously keeping a mysterious patient alive on a respirator for the past five years. The dramatic catalyst for the film, the event that forces her to confront the past and take control of the present is her decision, to let the patient go. Inevitably, Deb's conflict draws in other members of the family, including her husband, Brody, played by Wm. Paul Williams, a hippie hedonist and loving family man who joyfully soaks up everything life has to offer – and then stashes it in the garage. Feelings of guilt, pain, love and anger are made more intense when Brody's mother, Myna, played by Gail Cronauer, shows up on the emotional 'decision day'. Deb's young daughter, Cass played by Faith Webb, is also pulled in several emotional directions as the story chronicles the events of the day the respirator is switched off and the mystery surrounding the patient unfolds.

Produced by Kevin Nash and co-directed and produced by John Athas, "Air" will premiere in Dallas on December 4th at the Angelika Theater located at Mockingbird Station.
