Give While You Shop This Holiday Season -- One Click at a Time
CINCINNATI, November 18, 2003 --- Kum-buy-yah.com offers non-profit organizations the opportunity to earn up to 35 percent every time one of their members makes a purchase on its website during the busy holiday shopping season.
Who wont be making a purchase this holiday season?" stated Kathy Piech, president of Kum-buy-yah.com. Since youre making the purchase anyway, why not give some of that purchase price back to your church at the same time."
Kum-buy-yah.com offers a variety of 150,000 religious-themed products, such as angels, prayers, poems, music, videos, books, jewelry and statues, for purchase right from the Internet. Simply indicate the church, school or non-profit organization that youd like your contribution to go to, and Kum-buy-yah.com will send 10 percent of your purchase (pre-tax and pre-shipping) to that organization.
In addition, Kum-buy-yah.com has partnered with more than 500 national retail partners as well. When customers make a purchase on any of these websites, Kum-buy-yah.com will give a percentage, as indicated on the website, back to the non-profit of your choice as well.
Piech, President and Founder of Kum-buy-yah.com, says the more churches put into this year-round fundraiser, the more theyll get out of it. The benefiting church will receive a check quarterly (once achieving the minimum $25 residuals) of the revenue generated from its church members purchases.
God is like a television set: Everyone is tuned in to him, but we may not all be watching the same channel," says Piech. Some churches are Catholic, others are Lutheran, Protestant, Baptist, Jewish, Mormon, or Episcopalian. Some people and churches have no specific affiliation at all but go to services and proclaim God's name. It doesn't matter: What matters is that God is present in our lives, we're tuned in to his message, we hear and proclaim God's message, and God works through us during our everyday lives. And, if you aren't tuned in, you're missing out on something great," she adds.
Kum-buy-yah.com will never spam a church members membership. She says that responsibility is the churches job. In addition, kum-buy-yah.com will offer publicity support, such as emails, guidance and artwork, to its churches to help promote the fundraiser.
Kum-buy-yah.com is one of the only online fundraisers and affinity programs that is specifically targeted to the Christian community with its product line," she said. It offers a significant amount of return to churches, little effort on the churches part and is 100 percent web-based. This allows the fundraiser to operate year-round, 24/7, and is easy for churches to promote. They simply distribute the link to their church members. You dont have to worry about passing out catalogs or brochures, managing inventory, or have a volunteer chairperson manage a fundraiser for you."
Piech, who founded and designed the concept of Kum-buy-yah.com LLC from the ground up, is a 1998 cum laude graduate of Xavier University and a past intern of St. Anthony Messenger. She has several years of experience in marketing communications and public relations at two Fortune 500 companies.
