Advanced Handling Systems Strengthens Account Management Team

Moves pave way to serving new markets and customers more effectively

(CINCINNATI; November 18, 2003) - Advanced Handling Systems, Inc. (AHS), a leading provider of planning, design, implementation and post-project evaluation services for the materials handling industry, today announced that it has hired Branden Mardis as Account Manager and is naming Sue Shields as Equipment Group Manager. These new appointments are designed both to increase the companys reach into new markets and to strengthen its leadership in providing expert solutions delivered with outstanding customer service.

In his role as Account Manager, Mardis will be responsible for generating new business for the companys Systems Integration Group. Mardis will be exclusively focused on gaining entry into markets outside AHS traditional boundary lines of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia.

"Brandens successful track record of increasing sales and profitability in a highly competitive environment and his background in Engineering are tremendous assets for us," said Chuck Frank, President and COO of Advanced Handling Systems. "I am confident he will quickly make a significant contribution to Advanced Handling Systems as we look to expand in new markets beyond the Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia borders."

Mardis began his career in the materials handling in 1991 as an engineering co-op with Advanced Handling Systems. Since then, he has worked for various companies within the industry.

In 2003, Mardis received a B.S. in Psychology from Northern Kentucky University. In addition, he earned an A.S. in Engineering from Northern Kentucky Technical College in 1991.

As Equipment Group Manager for Advanced Handling Systems, Sue Shields will provide supervision, training, assistance and overall direction for AHS Equipment Group employees, as well as maintain responsibility for 30 key AHS accounts --a move which both capitalizes on and extends her previous assignment as Account Manager with the company.

A veteran of the industry, Shields career began more than 22 years ago. During her three-year tenure as National Accounts Manager, Shields was responsible for delivering more than $3 million in new sales for the company.
