The Woodbury House Announces Grand Opening
Historic building recently renovated to restore original beauty and functionality
as full service restaurant and café.
Merrimack, NH (November 19, 2003) -- Looking for an historic dining experience while noshing on traditional Italian-American fare? The Woodbury House, located at 438 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack is pleased to announce its grand opening ribbon cutting and celebration on December 3, 2003 at 11 a.m. All are welcome to join owner Anthony Moreira as he officially celebrates the opening of his newest restaurant venture.
The Woodbury House, originally the Isaac Riddle Tavern was built as a refuge for highway travelers in the late 1700s. During the Civil War, the inn became home for the blanket factory supervisor housed directly across the road and was one of the first houses in the region to have steam driven radiators. Over 200 years old, the building is created from hand cut and notched post and beam construction.
Today the facility has been has been artfully restored with hardwood floors and fireplaces throughout and seeks to welcome families as well as those tried and true highway travelers with its robust menu of Italian-American entrées, appetizers and desserts. Like its predecessor, the Country Gourmet and accompanying blues club, Stormy Monday, The Woodbury House continues the entertainment tradition with The Prime Time Café, a place where lighter fare menus are served, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting rhythm and blues, jazz and acoustic guitar music floats through the evening air.
Were very excited to bring back this property to its more traditional flavor and roots," says Anthony Moreira, owner of The Woodbury House. Once I saw this building I knew that the location and history of the site were perfect for our restaurant and café. We have many great plans for the future of this restaurant and look forward to welcoming the community to join us for a meal, holiday or special occasion in the months and years to come."
The restaurant is open for lunch from 11 to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, dinner from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Sunday seating beginning at 4 p.m. The Prime Time Café will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week and a lighter fare dinner menu from 4 to 9 p.m. as well as extended hours during musical performances.
