Laugh 4 Cash Comedic Event Supports Dinner Program for Homeless Women

Marketing Pros hosts Laugh 4 Cash, a comedic event to help the Dinner Program for Homeless Women

NEW YORK, NY, November 14, 2003 - Laugh for Cash is a comedic event to help Dinner Program for Homeless Women hosted by the New York based marketing and event planning firm, Marketing Pros. This is the first annual Laugh 4 Cash comedy event. This years beneficiary is Dinner Program for Homeless Women (DPHW), a non-profit organization providing meals and support services to homeless and low-income men, women and children. In 2000, DPHW provided more than 83,000 meals to homeless men and women in the metro Washington, DC area.

The Laugh 4 Cash comedy show will take place on Friday, November 21st and Saturday November 22nd at Jokes on Us Comedy Club at 312 Main Street in Laurel, MD. Washington, DC area students will participate in a collection drive to take place during National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, November 16th to November 22nd.

Our goal is to promote awareness among young people to the plight of the hungry and homeless in America by encouraging them to join in the fight against hunger by holding area drives and collecting funds. We hope to raise the awareness level of our future business leaders and continue to raise funds for the homeless in America by holding this event on a yearly basis," said Cassandra Riddick (VP, Marketing Pros). ABOUT DINNER PROGRAM FOR HOMELESS WOMEN

For the past 24 years, Dinner Program for Homeless Women has provided a place of hospitality and support, where any woman and her children may receive a hot, nutritious and appetizing dinner in a safe, stable environment and be provided with the support and opportunity she needs to make her homelessness a transitional, rather than a permanent time in her life. Current services offered include our Food Services Employment Training Program and Computer/Office Skills Workshop, both of which lead to employment placement assistance. The DPHW currently provides meals and services to 70-100 women and children per evening and, through a unique collaboration in which we serve as the fiscal agent for Zacchaeus Kitchen, 250-300 homeless men and women in the mornings. In 2002, the DPHWs Kitchen/Meals Program served 88,765 meals to the hungry homeless and is on pace to surpass that figure this year.
