L Etape du Tour 2004 travel package fulfills cyclists 'Tour dreams

Cyclomundo offers hotel packages that will allow riders to participate in France's most prestigious cyclosportive.

Cyclomundo, the bicycle riders travel agency has announced a new vacation package for cyclists who may wish to participate in one of the worlds most prestigious cyclosportive (a mass timed cycling event): L Etape du Tour.
Put together by the ASO, the Tour de Frances parent company, LEtape du Tour has since 1993 allowed thousands of riders to ride an actual stage of the Tour. The concept is simple: a mass race that follows the exact course of one of the current years toughest stages of the Tour de France.
This years stage will take place on July 11th between Limoges and Saint Flour on a 150 mile hilly course through the magnificent mountains of Auvergne. The same route will be raced by pro riders three days later on July 14th.
Past Etape rider and Cyclomundo client, Corey Pendleton says Le Tour de France is an exciting event to watch on TV, seeing it live is exhilarating, but nothing surpasses finishing the stage, and then seeing it done by the pros two days later. It really gives you a real appreciation for what these guys do."
This years distance and profile make it very challenging: 150 miles with four climbs.     However, food stations well spaced throughout the course offer a welcome relief to riders.
Finishing riders get a t-shirt and a medal. Prizes are awarded to top finishers.
As entry numbers are limited-they are usually sold out within hours-and hotel rooms are equally difficult to come by, France-based tour operator Cyclomundo offers a package for those who wish to realize this lifetime dream. This 3-day package includes:
