Telops launches the V3000-BAR laser diode bar handling, inspection & test station

-- Telops, a company specializing in the design and manufacture of optronic test systems, is proud to announce the introduction of the V3000-BAR laser bar handling, inspection and test station. This station addresses the demands of state-of-the-art semiconductor laser manufacturing. Its primary function is the rapid and safe handling of laser bars for improved production throughput and the reduction of operator-related product damage.

Quebec, Canada (PRWEB) November 22, 2003 --The station can safely and autonomously handle laser bars from various support media including wafer tape, waffle packs, Gel-paks®, as well as customer-specific support media such as facet coating fixtures. The V3000-BAR is a truly modular system and can be ordered with any combinations of support media. It has been designed specifically for laser bar handling and provides a highly optimized solution with respect to device throughput and safety.
The V3000-BAR station includes optional automated optical inspection and electrical/optical testing. Optical inspection is performed automatically and can be used to accept/reject samples based on quantitative assessment of high-resolution digital images. Automated testing includes standard LIV and spectral measurements from the light emitted by the lasers under pulsed electrical current stimulation. All inspection and test data is sent to a central database and is available in real-time through an Ethernet connection.
With this new and innovative product, Telops broadens its series of established burn-in and automated testing equipment, which already covers the submounted and packaged laser diodes. Our customers already benefit from our simple-to-use and production-grade test solutions for individual lasers. Now they can improve the productivity at an even earlier stage on their product with the V3000, by increasing their product throughput and by rejecting bad devices using our state-of-the-art inspection and test capabilities", commented Jean Giroux, Telops president.
