Q Ball Records announces rock band Rally Car's new release CD "Gear Down" is available in major retail outlets across Canada. "Heavy melodic rock with echoes of early Police/Social Distortion and the guitar work of the Stone Roses, Rally Car definitely has a future in a very competitive Music Market.

Vancouver, B.C., Canada, November 25, 2003 - Q Ball Records announces the new release CD titled "Gear Down" by Vancouver rock band Rally Car is available in major retail outlets across Canada. Rally Car is a fast emerging new rock band with an emphasis in their music on content, rather than hype.
Rally Car produces a new heavy melodic rock sound not pressured or influenced by current trends. Justin Wilkie, age 20 and lead singer, songwriter, guitarist puts it this way, "We dont feel pressured to fit in with whats out there right now, we have our own unique sound. We try to write good songs that have meaning to the listener. If you write songs with substance, people will be into it."
At the age of sixteen Wilkie entered the televised New Music Search ‘99 as the only solo act and competed against 36 rock bands. He was the youngest contestant, the only solo artist, sang all original music and won. He recorded his first 5 song demo with great success and then embarked on recording Gear Down.
Since forming as a band in late April 2003, Rally Car has been in the forefront of the Vancouver music scene, experiencing a strong demand in clubs and all age venues for their shows. They have also been receiving great support from radio stations in Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, and Edmonton, receiving ongoing airplay due to great listener response. In late July 2003, due to this strong listerner feedback, Rally Car landed on the top of The New Music Lab List along with Smash Mouth on Victoria's radio station The Q 100.3 FM. They were also voted in by listeners on Vancouver's 104.9 X FM Last Band Standing contest, out of over 150 bands. By July 2003, Rally Car had three singles receiving regular features on radio stations in B.C. and Alberta. As described by The Fox 99.3 FM radio station "Rally Car is a very hot Vancouver band. The guys have been played repeatedly on 99.3 the Fox....They write tight 'n punchy songs that fit our New Rock format perfectly, they've got an innate knack for crafting hooks that lodge in your cerebral cortex and adhere to the brain stem in epoxy-like fashion....they generate requests from our listeners and that's why I'd say they're definitely one of this musically rich city's foremost 'buzz bands'. Trace Ventura.
Rally Car has had a unique approach to entering the music industry. The band's focus has been to provide their concerts free of charge for fundraising projects throughout the Vancouver area. As a result of their innovative approach, they are gaining notoriety and popularity among the all ages group of school kids. Their reputation has spread and they will be heading to Edmonton in April where they will be donating their concerts for two weeks of touring Edmonton's high schools in cooperation with the Edmonton Police COPS for Cancer fundraisers.
Rally Car has recently received sponsorship from Orange Amps who's headquarters are in Hertfordshire, England with offices in Atlanta, Georgia. Orange Amps is a major music equipment company and Rally Car will now be featuring their amps and cabs in their live shows and music videos.
Rally Car's Gear Down CD is available in B.C and Alberta at all A & B Sound Stores, as well as all across Canada at HMV and Virgin Megastores. For demo packages, please contact Ginny at the Rally Car website, www.rallycar.ca .
