Weve learned about the refined tastes of this wonderful community in our first two years" said John Nugent, RIJFs Artistic Director and Producer. Putting together a lineup of wide scope and variation is something I love to do, and Ive discovered that Rochesterians have eclectic tastes!"

Of course, well be once again featuring 5-6 big name stars, along with the RIJF-Eastman School of Music scholarship free concerts, at The Eastman Theatre. Also new this year, during both weekends of the festival, is the transformation of Gibbs Street into Jazz Street". The street will be closed during the weekends to allow for live music on outdoor stages, food and drink.

Our goal is to make this event a serious attraction for visitors from around the region and indeed from around the country. RIJF is fast becoming one of the finer jazz and contemporary music events in the U.S.," added Nugent. As a New York City based festival production company, weve made a firm decision to commit to Rochester, even in these difficult economic times. We believe in the community and what the future holds for Rochester. Its a fabulous place to stage a world class creative music event".
