(PRWEB) November 25, 2003 --Celebrate our winter wonders throughout the month of December at the Hotel Charlotte in Groveland, CA with new owner-chef Victor Niebylski & his wife Lynn Upthagrove. Just 23 miles from Yosemite on Highway 120, (open year round to Yosemite Valley), the Hotel Charlotte is both affordable and a convenient gateway into Yosemite.

Victor & Lynn are welcoming guests this December with a 10% discount, making their already low prices even more attractive. Rates for a queen bedded room, private bath, breakfast buffet, free internet access and complimentary phone use are just $72.90 for 2 people, tax included.

Enjoy the refreshing new menu presented by owner-chef Victor Niebylski loaded with traditional favorites such as Chicken Florentine, Pork Marsala, Pasta Primavera and New York Strip Steak. Sauces are prepared individually with each order blending the flavors perfectly with the meats ensuring dishes are just right. Guests of the spunky café regularly rave about the Café Charlotte on the golf course the next day.

About the Hotel Charlotte:
Charlotte De Ferrari was born in Genoa, Italy in 1881. Her family immigrated to the California Gold Country when Charlotte was 16. During this era, the Groveland area went from boom to bust and back again with first the Gold Rush, then the San Francisco Hetch Hetchy Water Project.

Shortly after arriving in Groveland, Charlottes father was killed in a mining accident at Hardin Flat. Young Charlotte took it upon herself to support and hold the family together and began cooking for work crews, ranch hands and local settlers. She then opened a restaurant in the building which is now the famous Iron Door Saloon.

In 1918 Charlotte built this hotel on the site of an old livery stable and in 1921 she purchased the Gem Saloon next door, annexing it to the Hotel Charlotte as a restaurant.

Charlotte De Ferrari became a legend in her own time and it is rumored that she still roams room 6 and the halls of her hotel.
