A new technical industry is once again gaining national attention! The career field of Virtual Assistants has been getting national press in magazines like Entrepreneuer, Business Week, and on November 17th, 2003 an article was released in Time Magazine http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1101031117-538933,00.html highlighting the administrative support services being provided to many thousands of large and small business owners all over the world. One Metro Denver entrepreneur has decided to join the exciting virtual world by opening her own Virtual Assistance business!
Patty Benton, resident of Aurora, CO, opened her doors for virtual assistance to companies this past October. Though still in the start up phases of her business, JERPAT Virtual Assistants, she has already created spreadsheets for clients and written professional resumes assisting those who are job hunting. Patty Benton says, The time I free up for my clients to spend on building their business is one of the most satisfying and beneficial aspects of my business. Also, being able to help those who are trying to gain employment is a rewarding experience." She feels the advantages of todays technologies allow large and small business owners to access more affordable administrative services while saving time and money.
What can a virtual assistant do? Answer: What does a business need accomplished affordably? Patty Benton and JERPAT Virtual Assistants provides anything from word processing, web design, bookkeeping, to a line of greeting cards for business owners reaching out to clients. Currently we have been working to provide services to realtors to help assist them in spending more time finding houses for their clients and less on the small details of their business. We even provide the service of tracking and mailing our own line of birthday cards, thank you cards, and holiday cards. We will do virtually anything a client needs to help them focus more time on their clients and building their business," states Benton.
How do virtual assistants work virtually? Simple: email, fax, and phone. The arrangement is more affordable to small and large business owners because all they have to provide is the work. Minimum, a company can save $13-$18 an hour by hiring Benton and her company. Benton says, We are more affordable simply because we provide our own equipment, office space, and the company does not have to pay us benefits. In addition, we are hired on an 'as-needed-basis so the company is not tied into 'finding us work, but simply using us when needed!"
The future is here. The virtual revolution has begun. There is no looking back! To learn more about the virtual assistance industry or how you could partner with a virtual assistant visit Patty Benton and JERPAT Virtual Assistants at jerpatvas@comcast.net.
