Camera Phones Granting Wishes, says Textamerica
Camera phones used to create Christmas Wish Lists.
As the sales of camera phones soar they are beginning to find practical uses. The latest craze is to create Christmas or Hanukkah wish lists using your camera phone. At stores across America kids are picking items off the shelf, posing for a picture taken with mom's camera phone, and then posting it online to their personalized wish list at a website called http://www.textamerica.com. The wish list then gets emailed out to friends and family ensuring the wish list owner gets exactly what they want.
A few examples include 'Daniel's Wish List' at http://dtf.textamerica.com and 'Nicole's Wish List' at http://nlb.textamerica.com.
"When you have a picture of what someone want it's a lot easier to get it right" says textamerica founder Chris Hoar. "It's also a lot of fun for the kids, it makes them feel as if Christmas has come early, plus it's a free service and very simple to use" said Hoar.
But it's not just kids creating lists, adults too have been quick to join in. On 'Janet's Wish List' you can make her day with an Aston Martin Vantage or by giving up chicken http://giftsforme.textamerica.com, but some people take it even further, for example 'Laura' includes breast implants, liposuction and psychotherapy among her wishes this year, you can see her entire list at http://lauraville.textamerica.com. Others like 'Tina' include a wish that her friend quits smoking, http://henaa.textamerica.com.
"You don't have to have a camera phone, you can use a digital camera then just email pictures to your wish list or upload them direct from your pc" said Hoar.
To setup your free wish list just go to http://www.textamerica.com/wishlist.asp.
Textamerica's primary service allows users post camera phone images to direct to the internet to a 'Moblog' which is a mobile blog or in other words an online photo diary.
Textamerica is a private company based in San Diego, California.
