For Immediate Release

Congressman Meeks Honors Sports and Entertainment Business Manager
Glenn Toby with Award of Merit

New York, NY- The Dunlap Group in association with the office of Congressman Gregory W. Meeks, hosted an intimate gala recently to recognize the achievements of respected sports agent/writer/entrepreneur, Glenn Toby. Toby, who is a celebrated contributor in the book Souls of My Brothers" written by Candace Sandy and Dawn Marie Daniels, is the founder of the Book Bank Foundation. The foundations purpose is to provide youth with reading materials, mentors, and rewards to solicit a fight against illiteracy and promote educational advancement. Jacqueline Pinkney - District Manager/US Representative for Gregory W. Meeks Sixth Congressional District in Queens, presented the honoree with a Congressional Proclamation Award of Honor for his continual dedication to community through the efforts of his Book Bank Foundation.

Having grown up in Queens, the former old school lyricist known on the street as Sweety G (for being too sweet to beat) turned the sour taste of homelessness and despair into success and prosperity. Hustling his way from city streets to Wall Street, Glenn Toby has been giving back every step of the way. Whether hes contributing to the worlds of music through his writing, sports through his ability to negotiate the best deals for his clients or making power moves in the market, his efforts are usually for the benefit of someone other than himself. As a testament to his character, the foundations Executive Director Jamez R. Williams and its President, Richard Dwayne Britt, joined clients, colleagues and friends as they gathered to show their appreciation for the man who gives so selflessly to create better situations for the youth and the community at large. A special edition team jacket was presented to Toby on behalf of former client and ex-Miami Dolphin, Stan Gibbs of sports line Stall & Dean.

The event, held at the cozy Ida Maes Restaurant and Lounge, was sponsored by Courvoisier which added the perfect taste for the tastemakers in attendance which included: Souls of My Brothers" contributors Robert Roots, Kevin Green, Daddy-O, Akil Kamau, Leo Gatewood, Jamez R. Williams and Drs. Tory & Toikus Westbrook; as well as Swizz Beats, Kid Capri, Kevin Powell, Josh Evans (NY Jets), Latanya Blige and a host of others whose lives have been touched by Mr. Tobys efforts.
