Spirit Fest is an annual all day Christian music festival in Dublin, GA. The annual event helps to raise awareness and promote different Christian ministries and organizations while providing a venue for up-and-coming artists. 3 time DOVE award nominee G.S. Megaphone will headline in 2004.
DUBLIN, GA. (PRWEB) November 29, 2003 - Making the Unknown God Known" is the mission statement of Spirit Fest, the annual Christian music festival held in central Georgia, and they will be doing just that on Saturday, April 24, 2004 in Dublin, GA. Spirit Fest is an outreach of Spiritfield Music Ministries, Inc. a non-profit Christian organization that in addition to the annual music festival is also comprised of the popular Christian rock group Spiritfield", and a womens ministry made up primarily of the Spiritfield wives.
Spirit Fest is designed to reach out to youth and adults alike, to show them there is absolute truth in this world and that truth is Jesus Christ" says Spirit Fests Executive Director Sherry Robbins. It is our mission to show our community, the state of Georgia, and the entire country there is a God who condemns sin, but loves the sinner. There is a way to be reconciled to God through the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross, and there is joy in a growing relationship with Him... and that Christians can have as much fun as anybody!" Robbins has been the Executive Director of the annual event from its inception in 2001. Since that time hundreds of youth, adults, and children from all over the state of Georgia have converged on Dublin, GA. to attend this annual event.
Each year the Spirit Fest Committee carefully chooses a Christian ministry or organization to promote and raise awareness of through the efforts of the festival. For 2004, the Spirit Fest Committee has chosen Open Doors, the international ministry founded in 1955 by Brother Andrew (www.opendoorsusa.org). Working in over 60 countries and 23 international offices, Open Doors delivers Bibles and assists with pastoral training, literacy training and more, all with the purpose of strengthening the Persecuted Church worldwide.
Why Open Doors? We feel very strongly that as Christians we are all a part of the Body of Christ" says Robbins, "as such, when one part of the body is suffering, we all feel that suffering. We believe in Open Doors vision of strengthening the Persecuted Church in countries hostile to Christianity and in motivating believers worldwide to take up the cause. This vision clearly dovetails with Spirit Fests mission of 'Making the Unknown God Known."
What can you expect to hear at Spirit Fest? Our primary musical focus is Christian rock, but we offer a variety of musical styles that appeal to youth and young adults. In years past we have presented Christian rap artists, southern gospel bands, and contemporary Christian artists. Theres really something for everyone at Spirit Fest" says David Wilkins, Spirit Fests concert coordinator and bassist for Spiritfield. We really go to great lengths to bring in artists and groups that not only rock hard but point to Jesus Christ from the stage through what they do; we arent interested in a 'rock star attitude."
Who is on the bill for 2004? We are very excited for three time Dove Award nominee G.S. Megaphone to be headlining in 2004! Also appearing are Mick Rowe from Indiana, Dale Young from South Carolina and Silver Cord, Anue Day, Ignited, and Spiritfield which are all from the state of Georgia. Well also have many other performers there as well. Weve had a lot of interest in 2004s event from around the country" says Wilkins.
Dublin is in the center of the state of Georgia, approximately two hours southeast of Atlanta. There will be a custom car/truck/motorcycle show beginning at 8:00 A.M. prior to the concert.
