Plano, Texas, December 1, 2003  ÂThe Enemy, the second digital motion picture written and directed by award winning writer, Dean J. Augustin, has been selected for screening at the 2003 MiniDV Film Festival, December, 12th through the 14th. The festival, held at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood, is dedicated to showcasing films shot in PURE DIGITAL format. The MiniDV Festival is devoted to the "ART" of filmmaking, and not the politics of what format it's in.
ÂItÂs truly an honor to be included in the MiniDV Film Festival, says Augustin. ÂEvery year independent film is becoming more Âdependent on distribution controlled by major studios. Without festivals like the MiniDV Film Festival work like mine may never be seen by the public, according to the award-winning writer.
From the Rape of Nanking to the interment of Japanese Americans, ÂThe Enemy, explores the unique, and controversial parallels between the Citizens of the Empire of Japan, and Japanese Americans during the Second World War. Using archive film footage, and original audio recordings, The Good Fight  Digital Motion Pictures recreates the hysteria and fear surrounding Âthe enemy.Â
ÂThe Enemy was created on a desktop computer using over-the-counter video editing software. The 33 minute documentary was produced entirely from Internet sources. ÂI was looking for a fusion of technology with the Âroots of independent film and video, says the Plano, Texas, based filmmaker. ÂA simple production that entertains a wide audience.Â
