America Receives the Gift of Happiness

The documentary film about happiness, which has sparked national attention, is set to tour throughout the nation in the months of December and January.

ORLANDO, FLA. -- One Happy Movie, the documentary film about happiness, which has sparked national attention, is set to tour throughout the nation in the months of December and January. The documentary that started as a simple concept by a University of Florida graduate in the summer of 2001, before September 11th changed world, hopes to change the world again by spreading happiness one state at a time.

The documentary is the creation of UF alumnus Aaron Mighty. He along with three other Full Sail film students embarked on a 10-day journey, in August of this year, to discuss something so simple, yet rarely asked with several hundred every day Americans. From the rich to the poor, white to black, young to old, they discovered... What makes you happy?"

The four students traveled cross-country from Orlando, FL to New York City visiting 12 states and more than 45 towns and cities, interviewing almost 400 people in various small towns, cities, businesses, churches, academic institutions, and historical landmarks. What they discovered will bring you to laughter if not tears as it did at the films first public screening in the Orlando area to an overwhelming audience reception.

Now the student filmmakers will continue to share their discoveries and experience throughout the nation by touring the film with stops in Miami, Gainesville, Atlanta, Knoxville, Abingdon, Philadelphia, New York City, Washington, DC, Raleigh and a second screening in Orlando. The documentary will then make several stops along a college lecture tour, dates to be announced.

The documentary is being called the greatest reason to believe in happiness" by producer Aaron Mighty. He states, the journey alone was a heart warming experience with tons of laughter in between" and guarantees that the film will provoke similar emotions into an audience.
